The Rank Tracker tool keeps you in control and shows you campaign visibility, search position results, and the specific keywords that are bringing visitors to your site. As the namesake tool of our site, the rank tracker is one of our most popular features. If you want to get a better idea of your site’s SEO rankings, there are few tools that will be able to track rankings across multiple search engines as effectively as this one.

The rank tracker allows you to keep track of your site’s rankings in real time, ensuring that your SEO efforts aren’t derailed by outdated information. We also use a detailed yet intuitive interface that will keep all of the ranking data you need close enough so that you can track the performance of your keywords.

Along with tracking your own keyword rankings, the rank tracker is designed to compare your websites to your competition’s local rank. This will give you a better idea of what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong relative to the competition. After all, SEO doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and your rankings are largely based on your competitors’ ranks.

One of the best things about our rank tracker is that it allows you to identify the top opportunities for growth. One of the main challenges that businesses often face is that they have no idea how to take the next step forward, but you can use the data that the rank tracker provides you to keep the machine running smoothly.

We prioritize ease of use in our rank tracker tool since we believe that’s the most important feature. After all, if you aren’t willing to go through the trouble of using the tool in the first place, then you won’t be able to take advantage of all of the statistics and search engine rankings that it provides you with.

Let’s take a more in-depth look at the features that you can benefit from when you’re using the rank tracker tool.

If you’re currently running a local business, then it’s likely that this tool will help you grow to the point that you can take advantage of its global features.

Another benefit to using the Rank Tracker’s keyword tracker features is that it will allow you to determine your search rankings across various languages. We have one of the best multilingual tracking algorithms, allowing your business to thrive even if all of your keywords aren’t in English.

We’ve designed the Ranktracker dashboard so that it presents you with all of the info you’re looking for the instant that you open it. You can also get the program to compile custom reports on a regular basis, depending on how frequently you want to see how your rankings and search volume have changed.

You can see these reports daily, weekly, or even monthly, and these reports will also account for different languages and geographical locations. Due to the geographical and linguistic flexibility of our rank tracker, you can compile reports and keywords comparing you to international competitors.

Even if you only do business locally, having an idea of what’s working well for similar businesses around the world will allow you to come up with the right target keywords and performance metrics. Whether it’s on Google, Yandex, or any other search engine, we’ll be able to gather the necessary data and stats for you.

There is a wide range of features that help improve the reporting performance and the ranking results that you get out of this tool. No matter your location, you’ll get accurate information about organic search results and other key information that may not be immediately apparent.

What is Rank Tracking?

You may be wondering what rank tracking is in the first place. This is the practice of going over SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) to determine how high your content will be ranked. There are many different factors that go into figuring out the ranking of your content, so let’s take a look at them.

As you may expect, your page’s keywords are the bread and butter of determining where you end up when someone searches for your site. Rank tracking will display all of the variables that are related to your search engine results, including the relevant keywords that your competitors are using.

Keep in mind that a keyword position tracker like the one we offer will be useful for determining more than just information about your own website and its results. Since your results are directly dependent on those of your competitors, you’ll also be able to glean some crucial info about how they’re beating you.

All you’ll have to do is perform a keyword and SERPs analysis on your top competitor to see why they’re beating you for the top result. You can then use some of the things you learn to get the edge on your competitors, bumping up your position with the analyze function featured in our rank tracker.

Aside from the keywords that are used on your competitors’ sites, there are other factors that will go into tracking how their website is ranked. For example, while you’ll often find yourself optimizing for keywords, there is plenty of other content that you may not be trying to optimize.

For example, your site’s video content and other offerings will also play into your rank tracking, and our tool will account for other things that are featured on your site. However, keyword rankings tend to be some of the most crucial KPIs that you can use to ensure that your site has a good SEO ranking.

Keyword rank tracking is one of the most important things you can do to bump up your search positions, whether you’re looking for results on desktop or on mobile. Being able to monitor traffic and opportunities will allow you to ensure that your site brings in more customers and leads that will become customers.

Keep in mind that you don’t want to get tunnel vision when it comes to tracking your search results and rankings. If you’re too obsessed with what the rank tracker shows you, then it will be more challenging to make the progress that you need to succeed. Identify the issue and then determine how you can move forward instead of getting bogged down in the data.

While the Google search console (AKA the Google rank tracker) can also provide you with reports about your keywords and your search rankings, it will also present the data in a fashion that is difficult to digest.

One of the main goals of our rank tracker is to present all of the info coupled with some helpful SERP features so that our clients can easily identify what needs changing for better results.

Choosing the Correct Rank Tracker for Your Needs

There are a few things that you’ll need to consider when you’re selecting the best possible keyword ranking tool. Go over the features that are offered in a rank tracker before deciding it’s the right one to ensure that you don’t end up wasting your money on something that can’t even help your business.

In this part of our guide, we’re going to look at three of the most crucial features that help set apart our SEO rank tracker from the rest of the competition. These features will allow you to get the edge on competing sites and further refine your SEO strategy so you’re getting the best results.

Ease of Use

We’ve already mentioned that one of the best things about our rank tracker is that it will be much easier for you to use compared to the competition. So why is intuitiveness and ease of use so essential when determining which rank tracker you want to start using for your business?

The simple fact is that most people who pick up rank trackers aren’t well versed in SEO, and there’s nothing wrong with that. However, if you’re learning things as you go along, the last thing you need is a keyword tracking tool that will make it difficult to find the research you need.

There are many different research tools that you can get your hands on, and each of them has its own price point. Prices can range from free to monthly subscriptions in the hundreds of dollars, and the price that you’re willing to pay will depend on the data that you’re looking for.

If you just want basic data about how your site is performing, then you’ll just need to opt for a free SEO rank tracking program that will provide you with exactly that. If you’re looking for reports that will compile more advanced data, then you may need to be willing to pay for a more advanced rank tracking tool.

Additional Features

Some keyword rank monitoring programs will also come included with additional programs free of charge that will make it easier to choose between two options that are otherwise similar. While extras may not be the deciding factor that will determine whether or not you opt for a tool, they’re something to consider.

For example, some rank trackers will feature extras like SERP checkers, keyword finders, and even website audits (all of which we offer alongside Ranktracker).

Our Rank Tracker Exclusive Features

Of course, if you’re looking for an SEO keyword rank tracker, there are plenty of options at your disposal, so what makes our offering so special compared to the competition? We offer a range of exclusive features that promise to make our program a better value for money compared to many of our competitors.

We’ve already discussed some of the most important things to look for when looking for a keyword ranking tracker. Now, we’re going to take a look at some specific features that we offer that make us a more attractive choice for businesses that are looking to optimize their presence on the internet.

Competitor Insight

Unlike other rank tracking software, we’ve emphasized the importance of being able to see what your competitors are doing. After all, what better source of information is there than the site that sits one rank above you in your search rankings? We’ll give you in-depth data about competing sites, to the point that you’ll almost have more info about them than you will about your own site.

Competing rank tracker tool developers tend to overlook this crucial aspect, focusing too much on information that concerns your site alone. Don’t take this to mean that our info on your site is any less detailed, however, as we put just as much work into ensuring that you get the right data about it too.

Top 100 Results

While other keyword and rank tracker programs will only show you the top 10 or 20 competing sites, we’ve put the work into finding the top 100 sites. A lot of the time, it’s good to know what your competition is up to, even if they’re a long way off from the point where they may be able to compete with you.

This will ensure that you don’t end up getting surprised by a smaller site that is catching up on you but may not be displayed by something like a top 20 list. It will also let you see what up-and-coming websites are doing to harness astronomical growth and potentially make it to your level.

Dual Tracking

In the busy world that we live in, you can’t rely on always being on your desktop to optimize your site. If you find yourself out of the house or the office and you need to check up on your rank tracking for your site, being able to use dual tracking can be immensely helpful.

The rank tracker app will allow you to see your site’s performance wherever you are, and you can use it on both smartphones and tablets without any trouble. In fact, we’d recommend using a tablet so that you can get a better view of all of the data and metrics when you’re on the app.

Why Do People Use Rank Trackers?

The most obvious reason why you may need rank tracking is so that you can ensure that your site is showing up high in SERPs. The simple fact is that it is difficult to determine how a web page is going to show up in search results before it goes live, so using a rank tracker will allow you to get the insider knowledge needed.

With this information, you will be able to improve your search results, which is the end goal of any good SEO strategy. That brings us to the question of why you’d want to improve your SEO in the first place, and that has to do with driving more inbound leads to your business and making you seem more reputable.

Think about when you do a Google search for something. Will you take your time to search through pages upon pages of results? Odds are that you’ll end up picking one of the results on the first page because they seem more reputable. If they weren’t, would they be on the front page in the first place?

While reputability isn’t directly linked to SEO optimization, most customers and inbound leads seem to think it is. If you want business to progress more smoothly over the internet and you have a reasonable number of people searching for the right keywords, then SEO is the strategy for you.

Exclusive Rank Tracking from Rank Tracker

Now, you may be wondering exactly what sets us apart from other rank trackers that you can expect to come across on the internet. We’ve already mentioned that our business has one of the most intuitive rank trackers on the internet, but we also have one of the most accurate.

Keep in mind that rank tracking isn’t an exact science, and there may be some variation in the rankings across various platforms and services. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide businesses with accurate results that they feel confident basing their strategy around.

Keep in mind that the business of SEO is one that is constantly evolving, and failing to keep up with these changes has been the undoing of more than one competing rank tracking agency. This is why we’re continually refining our rank tracking algorithm to ensure that it’s up to date with each search engine’s changes.

Another great thing about our rank tracker is that we offer much more reasonable rates than other businesses, ensuring that you don’t have to go broke to get the results you need.

To use Ranktracker to track your local keyword ranking, you’ll just have to head over to your tracked keywords and group them as local. This will show you the keywords related to local results alone.

Much like when you’re looking for local keyword rankings, go to your tracked keywords section in the Ranktracker and then categorize them by your country wide keywords you are tracking. You will then only see the keyword rankings for global keyword ranking.

Head to the featured snippets part of the rank tracker and you will see the keywords that are applicable to featured snippets on the search engine results page. It will also display the difference between the focused keywords and your opportunities.

The best keywords are relatively low competition keywords, but keywords that are trending and have a moderate search volume. These tend to be long-tail keywords that will be displayed in the Ranktracker keyword finder tool.

Start off by picking the URL that you want to check for keyword rankings and then select either a local or a global audience. You can then analyze that URL to see the top ranking keywords that apply to it.

One of the best ways to figure out your Google ranking is to use your webmaster tools. Head to the list of your top keywords and then click on the keyword that you’d like to learn the rankings for.

To see your website ranking, start a website analysis report and wait until it has been completed. Once it’s done, open up the report and then check the ranking score for your website, as it will be outlined for you.

Start off by selecting the site you’d like to find ranking keywords for and then select the geographical location that you want to check. Analyze the site and then you’ll see the top keywords for the area.

If you want to check the optimization level of a site, then all you’ll have to do is start up a report on it and then see the optimization level. You can either manually compile a report or have the program do so automatically every so often.

Once again, simply select the web page that you’d like to have ranked and then choose the area that you want an SEO ranking for. You can also get a global ranking. The rank tracker will go on to display it.

Most tracker reports will display the SEO score for a selected URL. All you have to do is select the area that you want the SEO score for and then run the report. It will be displayed prominently throughout the report.

A baseline level for a good SEO score is between 61 and 70. While scores of 71 to 90 are far better, we’d argue that they’re closer to excellent or outstanding instead of just good. Keep in mind that higher scores are harder to reach.

There are many ways to enhance your SEO score, but you’ll have to start by publishing relevant content, using alt tags, and having plenty of backlinks.

One of the quickest ways to improve your SEO score is to add blog posts and to add header tags to your existing content. Headers will greatly enhance your SEO ranking in exchange for relatively little work.

Yes, you can use our rank tracker to create custom SEO ranking reports that will allow you to track your rankings across a wide range of geographical areas, including your local rank and your global rank.

While we offer a free trial of our advanced features, you’ll need to pay a tiered subscription depending on the features that you’re looking for.

To calculate RS / KD , Ranktracker first collects the top 10 websites that rank organically for the keyword on the first page of Google.

Then, it calculates the ranking score for the first domain and the score for its page ranking for the keyword. These scores are based on the number of backlinks pointing to the domain and its page. They range from 0 (no backlinks detected) to 1,000 (highest rank).

Once it's done, the domain rank is multiplied by 0.1, and the page rank is multiplied by 0.9. The resulting values are added and then divided by 500.

((domain rating * 0.1) + (URL rating * 0.9)) / 500

The same calculation is performed for each of the ten domains and their pages.

After that, the Ranktracker sorts domains by rank value in ascending order and finds the median value.

0.2 is subtracted from the median. The resulting value is divided by 0.8

(median value – 0.2) / 0.8

The resulting value is multiplied by 100 to convert it to an integer (e.g., 0.6 * 100 = 60). If the value is greater than 1, it's truncated to 1.
