Intro
Open an agency's client list and a particular kind of company stands out. It has been operating for years. It employs a substantial team. Its support desk, CRM and internal systems contain the accumulated history of serving real customers.
An SEO agency might know that business through content strategy, analytics or a long-running account relationship. That knowledge can make an introduction possible when the company wants to explore licensing approved business data for AI.
The opportunity starts with identifying a suitable organization and asking whether its leadership wants a conversation. It does not require the agency to collect the client's records.
Why this belongs in an agency conversation
Clients ask agencies to identify opportunities they have overlooked. Sometimes that means a neglected customer segment or an underdeveloped service page. An established operational history can raise another question: could a carefully reviewed portion be useful to an AI developer?

Support conversations can show questions and resolutions. CRM histories can describe a sales process. Internal documentation can explain how a business handles work. Whether any collection is licensable depends on its rights, quality and fit for a particular use.
The broader interest in operational context is visible in Microsoft's 2026 Work Trend Index, which examines how organizations are redesigning work around AI and agents. The report does not establish demand or pricing for an individual dataset. It provides context for why records of actual work merit assessment.
Choose the right client rather than the biggest list
A sensible first pass uses information the agency already has permission to use. Look for an established business with at least 50 full-time employees at peak, several years of meaningful operations and an owner or executive who can discuss company decisions.
Illustration — Recognize one relevant established client. Initial sourcing checks only. Supported geography, rights, data quality and buyer fit also apply.
Then consider the substance of its history. Has the business repeatedly handled complicated customer requests? Do its systems capture decisions and outcomes? Is there a reasonable possibility that the company controls the relevant rights?
These questions are preliminary. Headcount does not prove data value. A large volume of generic messages may be less useful than a smaller set of complete cases. A company that cannot establish the necessary permissions may be unsuitable regardless of scale.

SourceX also applies current geography and data criteria. Its program prioritizes U.S. businesses and supports other specified regions, with English-language conditions for some markets. Check the current criteria before presenting a company as a likely fit.
Make the first question easy to answer
A client does not need a technical presentation to decide whether it is open to learning more. A useful opening is specific and permission-based:
Illustration — Make the first question easy to answer. Keep this first conversation descriptive. Let the authorized client leader decide.
Your company may have operational records that could be assessed for a paid AI data license. Would you be open to an introduction to SourceX so you can understand the process and decide whether to explore it?
The agency should explain any referral compensation before the client decides. That gives the client a clear picture of the relationship and preserves trust.
Keep the first conversation descriptive. Ask which leader should receive the introduction. Avoid requesting support exports, customer lists or internal messages. Those materials belong inside the company's approved review process.
Understand what SourceX actually pays for
SourceX pays qualifying companies to license approved business data for AI training and evaluation. The business agrees the scope and permitted use. SourceX handles the licensing process, data preparation, delivery and payout under the relevant agreements.
Illustration — An agency reward has a defined base. Illustrative arithmetic in the article: a qualifying $100,000 supplier payout corresponds to $25,000. Payment conditions apply.
The business is not being asked to give an agency unrestricted access to its systems. Company permission also does not replace review of customer obligations, employee information or third-party rights. Some records may need to be excluded entirely.
For the agency, the role is a qualified introduction. The SourceX referral program offers eligible partners 25% of the actual supplier payout SourceX pays the referred company, capped at $100,000 cumulatively per company. The reward is paid separately and does not reduce the company's agreed compensation.

For illustration, a qualifying $100,000 supplier payout would correspond to a $25,000 partner reward at the default rate. That is an arithmetic example, not an earnings forecast. A lead, meeting or signature alone does not create a payable reward. Buyer acceptance and cleared payment, supplier payment, finance approval and the partner's required payment and tax details must be in place. Signed agreements may set different terms.
Use a short agency checklist
Before making an introduction, confirm the following:
Illustration — Five checks before an agency introduction. Existing relationships and duplicate referrals may be excluded. Retain permitted introduction evidence.
- The company appears to meet the basic sourcing criteria.
- A relevant owner or authorized executive wants the conversation.
- The agency has disclosed its potential referral compensation.
- The introduction contains a business description rather than confidential records.
- The agency has followed the program's account, agreement and attribution requirements.
Existing SourceX relationships and duplicate introductions may be excluded. A partner should not assume that an earlier informal mention establishes credit. Follow the current process and retain the permitted introduction evidence.
An agency may already have the relationship needed to begin the conversation. The next step is to find one relevant company, ask its leadership for permission and let that company evaluate a concrete licensing proposal if one becomes available.
