Among the most noteworthy announcements were ads in AI Overviews, AI Shopping Ads, Brand Profile ads, and a suite of AI tools designed to streamline ad creation. Ads in AI Overviews

Google has begun testing ads directly within AI Overviews. This experiment will start in the U.S. and will use feedback from users, advertisers, and publishers to refine the feature. Google noted that early testing shows users find these ads, which appear above and below AI-generated overviews, to be helpful.

Advertisers do not need to create new ads for this feature. Instead, existing ads from AI-powered Search and Performance Max campaigns will be eligible to appear within the AI Overview, clearly labeled as “Sponsored” when relevant to the query and information provided.


AI-Powered Recommendations Ads

Google announced new AI-powered experiences that deliver personalized recommendations. These ads allow users to express demand through multimodal inputs like photos and receive tailored suggestions. This feature will be tested with select advertisers in the U.S. over the coming weeks.


Visual Brand Profile Ads

Visual Brand Profile ads offer a new way for brands to highlight their unique stories on Google Search. These ads showcase images, videos, and promotions, and will appear alongside other ads on the search results page. This feature is expected to roll out in the coming months.

  • Video Highlights: Later this year, a new feature will launch for select apparel and beauty categories, allowing shoppers to explore curated short videos, customer quotes, and additional brand offerings.
